And He hath brought us unto this place and hath given
us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey. Deut. 26:9
...now arise, go over this Jordan...unto the land...
Joshua 1:2
Welcome to Crossing Jordan Farm. We are a small,
family farm located on 22 acres in Columbia, Tennessee. Our farm is home to a variety of animals. We are,
currently, raising registered Nubian goats and registered Nigerian Dwarf goats. We have a Great Pyrenees, Delilah, who watches
over our does. We have two donkeys, Bonnie and Clyde, that live in the pasture with our bucks. In addition to this,
we have three horses, several Black Angus cows, a variety of chickens, guineas, geese, and ducks. In
the last year, we have purchased three Jersey cows. We also have seven bee hives. We truly are
a land flowing with milk and honey.
We have been raising horses and chickens for many years. Five years
ago, we became interested in goat's milk for health purposes. We purchased three does and discovered, not only the health
benefits of their milk, but, also the pleasure of their company. They have wonderful personalities and each one is different.
They are very entertaining and very affectionate.
All of our goats are registered through either, American Dairy Goat
Association or American Goat Society. We vaccinate yearly and have a regular worming schedule. Our goats are fed a mixed
feed containing, oats, corn, barley, sunflower seed, and alfalfa pellets. They receive a good quality hay
and 22 acres to browse on. Along with their feed and hay, they also receive free choice Golden Blend minerals and baking
soda. We strive to maintain a healthy herd.
Here at Crossing Jordan Farm, we have longed, for years, for a simpler
way of life and a slower pace. We strive daily towards this goal and as each day passes, we realize the pleasure of
times past.
